My class graduated in the fall semester of last year. I was however not able to graduate with the rest of my classmates because of some reasons that the University registry pointed out in the letter they sent me. Though I felt discouraged, I sought to evaluate the reasons as to why I failed to graduate with the rest of my classmates.
In the previous semester preceding our graduation, my instructor had indicated in my report that my credit score for one of the most critical course units was below the mark. That significantly affected my overall credit score and subsequent GPA. It reminded me of the two test had failed to take and one assignment I had not submitted for that unit. That was the most probable reason that affected my credit score in the communication skills unit.
It is the same semester that I had problems with the payment of school fees. My scholarship had was terminated the previous semester. That meant that I had to raise the whole amount personally. Though late by one day, I managed to clear my school fees. For that reason, I did not take my Computer proficiency tests. My failure to take my computer proficiency tests together with the poor performance in communication skills significantly affected my semester’s GPA. Though I later sat for the examinations, my performance remained below the mark.
The registry has offered me two option; to retake my papers in the same units to boost my scores or choose two supplementary units that match my course needs. I have opted for supplementary course units. Having identified what made me not to graduate, I now feel reenergized to work through this semester to graduate with this semesters’ lot.
